Ever wondered what a year from now will look like? An Post is giving people across Ireland a unique opportunity to connect with their future selves through our new Letter to my future self campaign.

This free initiative invites participants to write a letter today, capturing their hopes, reflections, and dreams, and have it returned to them in May 2026.

Tang Cafe in Dublin city centre was a hive of activity on Friday morning as coffee takers and passers-by dropped in to write a letter to their future selves.

How it works

  1. Write your letter – Put pen to paper and share your thoughts, goals, and memories with your future self.
  2. Add your address – Ensure your full name and return address are in the top left corner of the envelope so we can send it back to you next year.
  3. Send it for free – No stamp is needed. Simply write FREEPOST in the top right-hand corner and send it to: Letter to my future self, PO Box 13812, Freepost FDN7725, Dublin 1.
  4. Delivered back in May 2026 – An Post will safely hold onto your letter and return it next year, just as you wrote it.
What would you say to your future self?

Liam Naughton, Marketing Media Executive, An Post explains:

"This campaign is a chance to pause and reflect on what you might hope for in the year ahead. Whether it’s a message of encouragement, a reminder of today’s priorities, or a moment of nostalgia waiting to be rediscovered, Letter to My Future Self offers a meaningful way to check in with yourself."

Start writing today—your future self will thank you!
